Description :
Calcutta University Certificate and Diploma Courses Admission 2019 – Applications are invited from graduate candidates for admission to the following courses: Certificate and Diploma Courses (2019-2020) in Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Korean (only certificate), Pali, Persian, Russian, Sanskrit (only certificate), Spanish, Tibetan and Urdu Languages. (All the courses are of one year duration) See: Admission Notification and Dates Important Dates Certificate Courses Last Date of Submission of Application Form: 25th September 2019 (02.00 PM to 06.00 PM) Classes are held: From 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Counselling will be held on 18th, 19th, 20th, 21th & 22 November 2019 The classes for Certificate Course will commence on 30th December 2019 Diploma Courses Last Date of Submission of Application Form: 25th September 2019 (02.00 PM to 06.00 PM) The Diploma Classes (2019-20) in Languages will commence on 30th December 2019 The Provisional Diploma Classes (2019-20) in Languages will commence on 30th December 2019 Number of seats For Certificate: The number of seats to the course is 50 (fifty) for each Language. Reservation rules apply. For Diploma : The number of seats to the course is 30(thirty) for each language. Reservation rules apply.
Eligibility Criteria :
Eligibility Criteria Graduation in any discipline with minimum 50% of marks (for both General and Honours Candidates). (45% for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B) No cut off marks for candidates who have post graduate degree. No cut off marks for candidates who have graduated before 1990. Attendance during the session: Minimum 60% of the total classes held. Diploma Course (2019-20) Applications are invited for admission to one year ‘Diploma Course’ (2019-20) in the above said Languages. (Except Sanskrit and Korean) Eligibility Criteria Graduation in any discipline with minimum 50% of marks (for both General and Honours Candidates). No cut off marks for candidates who have graduated before 1990 Candidates also have to obtain one-year certificate in a language from C.U. or an equivalent certificate from other Institutes are eligible to apply for ‘Diploma Course’ in that language.

Application Form Application Forms are available in Department of Languages on Payment of Rs.100/- (Rs.50/- for SC/ST/OBC-A, OBC-B, PWD) payable at SBI (Calcutta University – Online Payment). The filled in application along with attested copies of testimonials, four copies of recent passport size photographs along with original SBI online payment receipt of Rs.100/ (Rs.50/-for SC/ST/OBC-A, OBC-B, PWD) are to be submitted (2:00P.M.to 6.00P.M.) at the office of the Department of Languages on or before 25th September 2019.
